While it is known that Aruba has a long history of aloe production, a brief gold rush, and decades of oil refining, a little known fact is that Aruba Trading Company has been in business for almost 100 years and a wholesaler of world class rum & spirits for 35 years.

In 1886, the young Curiel started what would later become an important regional company under his name. It would develop into Aruba Trading Company, serving the community of Aruba since 1923, initially as a branch of Morris E. Curiel & Sons.

In 1986, after decades of experience in the liquor business, Aruba Trading Company launched its own liquor plant in Aruba, located in the heart of downtown Oranjestad on Weststraat. In 2010, this plant was incorporated under the name of WestStreet Liquor Company.

Popular with many Aruba resorts and casinos, the product line of more than 50 spirits and liqueurs include the brands Ron Tropical, Morrison Whisky, Tropicoff Vodka and WestStreet Liqueurs – all recipes created locally using only the highest quality ingredients from all over the world.

The bottling plant was recently renovated and upgraded with new state-of-the-art machinery and equipment. More than 200 raw and packaging materials are used in the blending process of their products. All labels carry an Aruba logo to signify the heritage of the products.

Five generations later, Aruba Trading Company and Weststreet Liquor Company remain a family business.
